Ridgeway Rovers vs. Buckhurst Hill 16th January 2015 Kick off 10.30am

 

After postponements Buckhurst Hill finally get their first game of 2015 under way. Todays game is away to Ridgeway Rovers who Buckhurst Hill beat 8-0 at home in October. The Buckhurst Hill boys will be hoping for much the same, to kick on in their quest for league honors this season.

 The middle of the pitch and the goal areas are awful and thick with mud so the boys will have to try and keep it out wide.

6Mins Goal 0-1: A Bell through ball splits the defense and Spencer latches onto the pass and slots it into the far corner, what a start.

10Mins: Lord goes close, but just can get his shot off before a last ditch challenge by the center.

13Mins: Rawlings saves down low and gets forward to the edge of the box and sets off the attack with a kick to Wheeler who gets clear, rounds the keeper but looses his footing just as he going to score and the chance goes.

16Mins: Ridgeway go close, they spring the off side trap and are one on one with Rawlings, he stays big and the striker can only fire it at Rawlings who saves, and clears early to set up another attack.

The game is wide open and Spencer gets the next chance and his rasping effort is tipped wide. Ridgeway get another through ball in and Rawlings again comes out winner on the one on one, he’s having a fine game between the Posts today. The game ebbs from one end to the other with both teams having chances to score, but for some wayward shots and some good saves the score stays the same.

33Mins Goal 0-2: Excellent work by Lord sees his pass find Laycock who picks his spot and places the ball inside the far corner of the net.

Ridgeway Rovers Kick off

3 Mins Goal 0-3: Lord races clear and no one is catching him and he adds to the score line with a neat finish.

Buckhurst Hill are trying to put the game to bed and the excellent Stalick is in the thick of everything, with some neat passing and tenacious tackling.

17Mins Goal 0-4: Laycock finds some space and squares it to Lord who smacks it home.

20Mins Goal 1-4: The home-side get one back, this time Rawlings is beaten, as the striker is clean through and slots into the corner.

25Mins Goal 2-4: The ball is drilled home as Rawlings dives gets his fingers to it but can’t keep it out.

26Mins Goal 2-5: Stalick again in the thick of it, as he slides in a great pass to Spencer who finishes.

29Mins Goal 2-6: Stalick with a curved pass with the outside of his boot sends Wheeler clear, who calmly lobs the on rushing keeper.

30Mins Goal 2-7: Wheeler with a great run takes on the left back and drives for the dead ball line. He fires the ball across the area, McKeever collects and sees his first effort saved but then fires home the loose ball and the rout is complete.

What a game to watch today, the boys dug in and put Ridgeway to the sword. All the players contributed to a great team effort and result. Next week another away fixture to SENRAB, who will take note of our score today and will not look forward to out visit.
