East Thurrock vs Buckhurst Hill

28th September 2014 Kick off 1.30pm

On at beautiful Autumn day the boys find themselves on the road again in an away League Cup match. With the hosts playing in a league above Buckhurst Hill its going to be another hard day for the boys.

East Thurrock kick off

Thurrock get the match underway and immediately start to press the Buckhurst Hill midfield and win possession. Buckhurst Hill are giving it away to cheaply and need to string some passes together other wise its going to be a very tough game.

6mins Goal 1-0: The hosts take the lead with some neat interplay the forwards shot nestles into the far corner of Rawlings goal from close range.

10mins Goal 2-0: Thurrock double their lead. They win possession in midfield and the winger breaks the offside trap and races towards goal, his shot ripples the inside netting to the far post and Rawlings dive is in vain.

14mins Goal 2-1: Buckhurst Hill get a breakthrough, a ball forward to Lord sees some neat footwork and his effort from outside of the box goes over the keepers head and in.

20mins Goal 3-1: Thurrock score again, the center back just keeps coming through midfield and no one closes him down until he slides a great ball through the defense and the striker smashes it into the top corner of the net.

33mins Goal 4-1: Penalty? The referee gives a penalty to the home side and even the home sides manager is baffled with the decision. The spot kick is dispatched low and into the corner and Rawlings can do nothing.

The halftime comes to and end, the players look deflated, the management furious. Every thing that could go wrong has gone wrong. Passes not hitting their targets and then getting punished the order of the day.

Buckhurst Hill Kick off

Buckhurst Hill come out looking determined, a few choice words from the management has increased their urgency and some passes are finding their targets. Salmon playing a more advanced position today gets his shot away from the edge of the box and the keeper saves at his second attempt.

15mins Goal 5-1: The good start to the second half has been all in vain, Thurrock break away and the strikers effort is smashed home.

20mins Goal 6-1: The goals keep coming, a corner from the right is swung in and in the breaks to a Thurrock player who swipes it home into the roof of the net.

23mins Goal 6-2: Buckhurst Hill score, a free kick is conceded and Laycock bends it over the wall and into the far corner.

 33mins Goal 7-2: More misery for Buckhurst Hill, a ball delivered from the left wing and somehow it evades every one, and falls to the feet of a Thurrock midfielders feet who cant believe his luck, and he toe pokes hit home.

The final whistle blows and the Buckhurst Hill player trudge off the pitch, undone by some good play, some questionable decisions from the referee. So its back to the drawing board, and a home game next weekend and hopefully some good fortune
